A Church on a Mission

North Hills Church of God is a congregation in Phoenix, Arizona that is on a mission. With new pastor, Jim Davey, they embarked on a 21-day journey through the book of John. Reading one chapter a day, fasting, and journaling on the experience, this congregation sought to remove the roadblocks of life and focus on God.

When Jim asked if I could help him with this project, I was delighted. Not only is Jim a true friend, but he is a man with a great heart, and a passion to serve. He wanted a web site that he could use as a “rally point” for this project. Features he needed were a place to hold a daily blog, a way for people to comment on the discussion, links to resources, and, in general, an easy way to update and manage all of the content. Oh, and it had to be inexpensive.

The Solution

No problem. Leaning on the free wordpress theme, Neoclassical Theme, I was able to quickly create a wordpress blog site for him to use. Instead of trying to build a custom solution, I was able to find something that was almost a perfect fit, customize it a little bit, and give him a solution that would meet his needs without hurting his budget.
