I’m excited. Debi Lindsey, office manager for Hannah and Oltjen Orthodontics in Kansas City, has asked me to give a lecture at their November 12th study club meeting at the Hereford House on Midland Drive. I’m honored.
At that same time, though, to be honest, I’m a little nervous. Having given countless presentations in graduate school and in former jobs, I’m comfortable giving planning classes, giving lectures, and leading discussions. That’s not the point. This will be the first time that I have done it as a representative of my own organization. Grad school is one thing. When it’s part of the job description, there isn’t much pressure. When you are sought out and asked for your professional advice, insight, opinion, and guidance, that’s another ball of wax, entirely.
The lecture will be titled, “Managing Your Marketing Investment,” and will center around the notion that you “get what you measure.” Topics will include web site conversion goals, site analytics, search engine optimization, social networking, and campaign planning.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes…
